Relations among Stigma, Quality of Life, Resilience, and Life Satisfaction in Individuals with Burn Injuries

This study examined the relations among burn stigma, quality of life, resilience, and life satisfaction, hypothesizing that higher stigma lower burn-related would lead to satisfaction; however, resilience moderate this relation. A sample 89 participants was recruited from an outpatient clinic a center in critical care hospital. Participants completed battery measures assessing these constructs. Results suggested associated with reduced satisfaction after accounting for other variables. Multiple regression models found predicted both affect body image but not interpersonal relationship or sexuality. Interpersonal quality, sexuality, affect, all satisfaction. Both partially accounted relation between affect. Findings reinforce previous literature has shown also emphasizes role life. Individuals who experience injury may have innate abilities, which allow them bounce back stressors; thus, can be targeted strength bootstrap order improve adjustment outcomes.
